The sixth film in a series that has arguably gone on for far too long, Resident Evil: Retribution gives us more of the same and actually manages to breathe a bit of freshness into the film series, providing us with new twists and more characters from the games.

The US Marines mobilize to halt an alien invasion landing off the coast of Santa Monica. One of many many other alien invasion flicks, this one attempts to stand out by applying realism more cannily than the others.

Hiroyuki "Henry" Sanada will portray a grieving detective investigating his daughter's murder, opposite Heather Graham, Stephen Dorff, and Cary Elwes.

We should all be grateful that Walden Media stepped in to carry the torch after Disney unexpectedly dropped the franchise, as The Dawn Treader is a fantastic addition to it and it would have been a shame to see the beloved series run out of steam.
