Retro Game Review - Half-Life (PC)

Deep in the heart of the sprawling Black Mesa Research Facility, a top secret experiment on anomalous materials is about to have unexpected effects that would prove devastating for all of humanity. You are Gordon Freeman, the MIT educated scientist at the heart of it all, and you must survive the disaster at Black Mesa, repel the subsequent alien invasion it causes, and thwart the misguided efforts of the army to stop you.
In these tough economic times, there's no better way to game than to buy used games, so I've decided to offer the occasional review of a game I have in my collection which has been out for a while, the oldest of which dates back to the days of the NES. I call these installments "Retro Game Review", because even the secondhand shopper can benefit from being informed.
In an increasingly common marketing ploy these days, a direct-to-DVD animated prequel is released to boost a franchise. The difference here is that the franchise in question is a first debut video game.
The Cosmos’ Environmental Solution Spells Doom For The Human Race

Vera Nazarian, publisher of the small press imprint Norilana books, was in trouble. Thanks to bills that she incurred while fighting a fraudulent lawsuit, she'd been forced into a sub-prime loan. Then, when her mother was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, the bills only got bigger.

The trouble just kept coming when the sewer lines backed up into her home. Now, with Christmas just weeks away, the bank was threatening to foreclose, putting her and her ailing mother out of the street.

But thanks to her many friends – writers and fans in the Science Fiction community, there was hope.
