A few days ago,
Moviehole reported a few spoiler details on
The X-Files movie sequel, based on a script side. Turns out the truth was not
out there. Some astute X-Philes noticed that the scenes
were from the TV series. Chris Carter was using them for casting. (Sides are pages of
dialogue used during the casting process). According to the updated article on
Moviehole, the unfamiliar names of what at first seemed to be two new FBI agent characters were on Mulder and
Scully's lines.
The sequel, which will be written by Frank Spotnitz and
series creator Chris Carter, who will also direct, starts filming on December
10 in Vancouver, B.C. David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson will return as Agents
Fox Mulder and Dana Scully. That's about all we know; rumors are already
flying.
Ain't It Cool News got a report from a fan that Lance
Henrikson, who played Frank Black in Chris Carter's TV series
Millennium, was
coy when asked if he would be in
X-Files 2.
The code name for the sequel movie appears to be "Done
One."
The website
The Whistler Question, a newspaper covering the
Whistler and Pemberton areas of B.C., has reported that filming on the sequel
will take place in Pemberton in early February. The filmmakers reportedly got
permission from the town council to close off part of a road because they
needed snow cover. Sheena Fraser, Pemberton Village deputy clerk, said that
"they want to turn the road into a river and stage a car crash that comes
over the edge and lands in the riverbank."
Meanwhile, MTV spoke to Nicolas Lea, who played fan-favorite
bad boy Alex Krycek. He said as far as he knew, he wasn't in the sequel, and
gave his opinion on the demise of his character: "I was a little bummed at
first, but I feel like maybe Krycek was actually dead when that bullet
went through his head."
No word on whether Mitch Pileggi will reprise his role as
Assistant Director Skinner.
Laurie Holden, who portrayed Mulder's informant
Marita Covarrubias, told the MTV movie blog that “if they call I would love that.” Sounds like, so far, they haven't.
There are going to be a lot of rumors flying around between
now and when more official details come to light.
In the meantime: trust no one.
