The casting news for tonight is a mixed bag ... (includes possible spoilers)

Companions, Cyborgs, and Guys With Flair
The casting news for tonight is a mixed bag, and first out of that bag was the casting news for Doctor Who that came out late last night.  (Spoilers at the link.)  As expected, the fandom imploded.  Again.

Second kitty belongs to Katee Sackhoff.  The Battlestar Galactica star has been moonlighting over on Bionic Woman (which is not sitting pretty in the ratings game).  Alas, she will moonlight no longer, as reported by intrepid fan RoadRunnerDM.  At the recent convention in Burbank, Sackhoff told the audience that she was done with BW.  "She has a meeting with one of the producers after Thanksgiving, but does not expect to return to the show even if it does resume production," said the report.  Sackhoff also seemed to indicate this was due to a personality conflict with str Michelle Ryan, though she never said so directly.  Sackhoff, like the rest of the BSG cast, is out of work until the writers strike is settled (though the ones who spoke about it claimed to be enjoying the break over the holidays).

Our third kitty tonight is a lovely shade of green.  Green Lantern, that is.  TV Guide reports that Dermot Mulroney ("My Best Friend's Wedding") is voicing Hal Jordan in animated The Batman.  Mulroney is a big comics fan, whose brother and sister-in-law wrote the JLA movie.  Mulroney said, "[My brother] Kieran and I grew up reading DC Comics.  We had a whole system where, once a week, we'd take a trip to the little store that sold the comics. I have a couple of brothers, and we'd fight over who got which issue."

Regarding the uneasy relationship between Jordan and the Bat on the series, he said, "I really liked the dynamic between them.  They're fighting for the same cause, but there are some personality conflicts. That was a fun part to play."
