Word is rapidly spreading across the Internet about a BBC press release saying that Torchwood Season 2 will begin airing on BBC America on January 26, 2008, at 9 p.m. This was first broken by The Futon Critic yesterday and picked up on many other sites and blogs, to the point where it is only fair to share with Firefox News readers.
This morning, I reported that the announcement had yet to show up on the BBC or
com/">BBC America websites. However, it has just appeared on the BBC America "Anglophenia" blog. The January date is supposed to be very close to the premiere of Torchwood in Britain, although the BBC Press page still does not have an announcement of the British airdate.This morning, I reported that the announcement had yet to show up on the BBC or
Hopefully this means that the release of the Season 2 boxset will be equally prompt. Region 1 viewers will not be able to purchase Torchwood Season 1 until January 22 - just time enough to have a marathon before the new start date.
