Director Mark Romanek has signed to bring "The Wolf Man" to life at a theatre near you. Actor Benicio Del Toro, also listed as a producer on the film, is slated to star as Lawrence Talbot. Talbot is an American who returns to his ancestral home in Great Britain and is bitten by a werewolf. The movie is a period remake of the classic horror film of the same name starring Claude Rains, Bela Lugosi, and Lon Chaney Jr.
Andrew Kevin Walker wrote the script.

Del Toro has made a name for himself in films such as "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas," "21 Grams," "Traffic," and "The Usual Suspects." Genre fans may also recognize him from the recent big-screen adaptation of Frank Miller's "Sin City." Romanek's previous credits include the Robin Williams psychological thriller "One Hour Photo" and a number of music videos for artists such as David Bowie, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Morrisey.
