Eager fans waiting for word on the long-awaited fourth installment of the "Indiana Jones" franchise take heart:
Variety reports that Paramount will release the film on Memorial Day Weekend 2008. Filming is set to begin in June from a script penned by David Koepp ("Spider-Man," "Spider-Man 3"). Details of the script have been kept tightly under wraps, though rumors have swirled about the project, including the return of Sean Connery as Indy's father, Henry Jones Sr, Karen Allen as Marian Ravenwood, and John Rhys-Davies as Sallah. Natalie Portman is also rumored to be part of the cast, possibly as Jones' daughter. Harrison Ford, George Lucas and Steven Spielberg are all definitely returning for the film, igniting both hopes and fears for fans.
The film is slated to go head-to-head with Warner Bros. "Speed Racer," based on the beloved 70's cartoon series.
