The viral site runs two contests in a row in honor of the holiday. First, there was a scavenger hunt through several major cities as people looked for letters. For example, there were three letters hidden in Chicago, with the instructions:
Chicago – Start at the corner of Wabash & Jerusalem 3000. Look for the clock. At the clock head in the direction of the El. You’ll get to a place named for a train-not an aboveground train-next to the parking garage entrance. Across the entrance on the other side you’ll find what you seek in the lime green circle.
Chicago – Pizza in Chicago. Start at Uno (Wabash) and count to Due. Cactus to your back, chili pepper in front, start walking. Stop at the manhole cover that says COMCAST and find the door that has a 9 over it. It’s not difficult to see what you need from where you’re standing.
Chicago – Start at Pizzeria Due at Ontario and Wabash and head towards the street named for the Buckeye state. When you see the North Bridge at your feet, look across the street. Inset in the sidewalk are white squares made of two triangles. Count fourteen white squares and stand on the 14th. Scan. No, you’re not going through the looking glass.
When put together, the letters spell out: "The only sensible way to live in this world is without rules."
The solved puzzle on the site led to a bonus picture of the Joker in the back of a car, which led to a new viral site called Rory'sDeathKiss.Com, which is a nice take-off from the fake shooting title "Rory's First Kiss." Is there a Rory in the film? Do we care? It's all about the fun at this point.
On the new site, the Joker challenges people to dress up "pretty" and take pictures and videos of themselves in front of major landmarks in their cities. One hopes someone will submit photos from the front of the World's Largest Tin Foil Ball and similar.
