Old and new companions of Doctor Who are getting a chance in the spotlight.

A Very Whovian Christmas for Children in Need
Old and new companions of Doctor Who are getting a chance in the spotlight. On the television, the BBC has announced the full lineup for the Children in Need special on November 16. In addition to the previously reported Peter Davison-David Tennant "special episode of 'Doctor Who'," Kylie Minogue (this year's guest companion Astrid from the Doctor Who Christmas special) and John Barrowman (Captain Jack, Doctor Who/Torchwood) will be singing.

On audio, Big Finish has done so well with their previous "Companion Chronicles" that they have started a new series, with the first disk, "Mother Russia," having just been released. The Companion Chronicles are Big Finish's way of covering the years for which they cannot get the original Doctors by having the surviving companion actors describing new adventures from their character's points of view. Season Two will feature stories told by Stephen Tyler (Peter Purves), Jamie McCrimmon (Frazer Hines), Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart (Nicholas Courtney), and Leela (Louise Jameson).
