The JLA movie news roundup tonight: got a Wondy, no Supes, and there are potential spoilers for the movie. The big news today: Teresa Palmer, about to be best known for getting good screen time with Daniel Radcliffe in "December Boys," is getting the nod to don the knee boots and bustier of fame. The petite Palmer (she's 5'6", which makes her awfully short for a
stormtrooper Amazon) is just 21, which lends even more credence to George Miller's rumored desire for younger actors and a franchise hit.
The famous blue spandex may or may not have been filled, but Rupert Evans won't be wearing it. "We don’t know where that rumor started, there’s no truth to the rumor at all," said a representative for Evans to the folks at
IGN. Eveans didn't audition for any of the roles in the film, according to his agency.
Finally and most interestingly, Moviehole may have a source for the first fourteen pages of the JLA script. Skip out on the spoilers now if you don't want to know.
Seriously, bail now.
Okay, the film starts out with a funeral. Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter, Aquaman, and the Flash are dressed in black and mourning someone we don't know the identity of yet. (It's not Batman.) The film cuts to a week earlier with Barry Allen at lunch with his wife Iris. Pull out from their conversation, where he's showing a crush on Wonder Woman, and Batman is in the Cave, clicking to each of the League members in turn, having them under surveillance even in their secret identities. After he stops looking, someone keeps spying on the Leaguers, specifically Detective John Jones, as something very strange happens to him ...
Gotta love plot leaks. Even when they're wrong, they're fun!
