"Man of Steel" has hit another snag --- the writers have bailed, according to Variety. Michael Dougherty and Dan Harris, the pens behind "Superman Returns," have decided not to further their careers in the Super-direction for now; instead both are looking for canvas chairs with their names on the backs. This is leaving Warner Brothers in somewhat of a pickle, as they need new pitches from new people, and there's that writer's strike looming in the near future.
The bozz -- denied by Warners -- is that, much like how "The Incredible Hulk" is going to "move on and sorta-pretend the first movie didn't happen that way," the Superfranchise may also spawn out in a different direction. "Superman Returns" only grossed $391 million worldwide. (Yeah, that's right, I said "only" -- Hollywood money is not like Earth money, 'kay?) Warner Brothers would like more cash, please, and thus perhaps are looking at a reboot. Brandon Routh is still wearing the tights, and as we reported earlier, Bryan Singer (still attached so far) is allegedly still trying to talk Terence Stamp into rejoining the franchise.
