Fans of The CW's cult hit Supernatural might see a familiar (and favorite) face later in season 3. (spoiler warning)
Samantha Ferris, who played bar owner Ellen Harvelle in season 2, said on her blog that the show has contacted her about returning. "It's not confirmed yet, but they have me tentatively penned in to shoot in the first week of January."
Last season, the show introduced The Roadhouse, a bar for hunters. The Roadhouse gave viewers a wider glimpse into the hunting world and into John Winchester's (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) past. As it turned out, he had kept his sons, Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles), isolated from much of the hunting network. The show burned The Roadhouse to the ground at the end of season 2, although so far season 3 continues to broaden the show's cast and the hunting world.
The Roadhouse came with a handful of new characters, including the Harvelles. Fans were resistant to the introduction of Jo (Alona Tal), Ellen's daughter, an inexperienced, aspiring hunter. But they warmed up to the sharp-tongued, competent Ellen.
Ferris also mentioned "a wee recurring role" on the Sci-Fi Channel's Battlestar Galactica. She will also be at Creation Entertainment's Salute to Supernatural, Smallville and Buffy/Angel, November 10-11, 2007 in Chicago.
