Warner Bros Purchases Another "Wonder Woman" Script
While in the process of pre-production on a new "Wonder Woman" film, Warner Bros and Silver Pictures are also quietly in talks to purchase a "Wonder Woman" spec script from new writers Matthew Jennison and Brent Strickland, says the Hollywood Reporter. The new script reportedly focuses on the iconic character during her WWII incarnation (made most famous during the first season of the 1970's series starring Lynda Carter). Joel Silver has already stated he has no interest in making a period piece, and Warner representatives say the move is simply in order to forestall any later claims of similarities between the spec script and the upcoming film.

As fans already know, Joss Whedon is attached to the official theatrical project. He is in the process of finalizing the script, and is attached to direct. The film has gone through a number of growing pains not seen by its brother films featuring DC Comics icons Superman and Batman. Scripts have been written, dorectors and producers attached and let go, even names released as potential heirs to the satin tights, yet the project has remained in limbo for over a decade. However, with Whedon on board and the box office successes of the other two members of the DC Trinity to bolster enthusiasm, the buzz surrounding this project is sure to keep growing.
