It's sequel season once again, and the air is alive with the sounds of accountants giving high-fives to fans.  The surprise news this week comes from the mouth of David Duchovny, who says filming on the next "X-Files"film is beginning this December, according to /Film.

Duchovny said, "[T]he script is written and as far as I know we're all trying to shoot in December at some point. We would all love it if we could keep it a secret and just give everybody a fresh experience of not knowing what the movie's about.

I know if I was a fan of the show I would kind of be excited to be surprised."

Meanwhile, there's big news for the big robots: Variety reports that "Transformers 2" really is a go, with a release date set in 2009, aiming for June 26th.  DreamWorks and Paramount have had an uneasy alliance in recent days since the merger, but the prospect of millions of extra dollars in the coffer is getting everyone's feet abck under the table.  Michael Bay is in final negotiations to return as director, although he's got plenty on his plate coming up.  Shia LaBeouf is expected to return once he finishes up filming on "Indiana Jones 4."
