Batman's tireless war on crime takes him to Hong Kong this Novemember, as 'The Dark Knight' crew arrive in the city to film there. However, local politicans have made it clear that whilst Batman may be the law in Gotham City, in their town, he'd best behave himself.
A meeting on Thursday 19th September between the production crew and local politicians made it clear that disruption to the resident's lives would not be tolerated. Plans to use a helicopter for late night scenes even led to one district councilor to warn residents to 'prepare earplugs' although other members of the government appear far more circumspect. Kwok Ka-ki, a legislator, was quoted as saying to Reuters:
'We welcome the movie but want to ensure arrangements are hassle free. Just don't get it done in the middle of the night at 2am.'
The Dark Knight, directed by Chris Nolan, opens next July, and sees the return of Christian Bale as Batman, Michael Caine as Alfred, his butler and the debut of Heath Ledger as The Joker. (Source:
