Someone's wires are getting crossed on what is and isn't in the "Iron Man" movie. Earlier this week, we posted the new trailer for the film.  Since then, industry mag Variety has reported that ILM reps said the clips in the film of Iron Man outflying a pair of jets are not actually a part of the film, and were created entirely for the ComicCon promo reel.  This caused some dismay among fans, who thought the clips loked pretty nifty.

Director Jon Favreau then commented on the official MySpace group thatthe reports of faked scenes were greatly exaggerrated:

"It's in the movie. It's true that the shots were rushed for Comic Con, but the F-22 dogfight has been in the works for over a year and was the furthest along of the film's set pieces. That's how we were able to get it on the screen nearly a year before the premiere."

So there's the word from the horse's mouth: the cool part will in fact appear in the film and fans really are in for a treat.
