Christian Bale says he hasn't been spproached for the JLA movie. IESB caught up with Bale and put the question to him. The actor confirmed that he is not doing the film, nor did they ask him. When asked about his thoughts on Batman getting a recast, he said, " It’d be better if it doesn’t tread on the toes of what we’re doing, though I feel that it would be better if it comes out after 'Batman 3.'"
The JLA film has started to have actors attached to it. Ryan Reynolds ("Blade 3," "National Lampoon's Van Wilder") is the strong favorite to play the Flash, coming off his close ties to the stalled "Flash" film. MTV asked Reynolds about his involvement recently.
"'The Flash' isn't dead at all. There’s talk of it being a JLA movie, the Justice League having them all together. And then there's other talk of doing a 'Flash' movie with [director] Shawn Levy.” He added, "I'd love to see a full on Justice League movie done, the scope of which is just enormous. I think it's something they can pull off.
"
Bale may not be in the JLA film, but he's sure being given a lot to deal with in his own franchise. The following contains potential plot spoilers for "The Dark Knight," so read no further if you're avoiding those.
Anthony Michael Hall was brought on-board the set under much secrecy, not even revealing his character's name. This led to much speculation, some of it that Hall might have been cast as Edward Nygma, the Riddler. Now reports from the shoot are coming out.
From HollywoodChicago:
Hall’s character plays an investigative reporter for the GCN, which was photographed on Aug. 19. The scene shot that day, which is about three-fourths of the way into the film, goes like so.
Hall’s character is intensely jealous of Bruce Wayne. He even has an exactly matching Lamborghini Murcielago.
The character learns of Bruce Wayne’s true identity as Batman and plans to use the GCN to blow the whistle on him. My source describes Hall’s character not as a villain but as an antagonist.
Take that as you will. Nygma has not yet been completely discounted as the character's name, though others come to mind.
