The hyper actor chats about some of his favorite projects ...

The hyper actor chatted about some of his favorite projects.  IGN sat down with Seth Green and talked about his role as the producer of Robot Chicken, his time as Oz, and the creative process.

On the writing staff at Robot Chicken, Green said, "Everybody gets to work on something. So if you come up with an idea, then you'll probably write the first pass at it. But stuff goes back and forth. Somebody will come up with a very loose idea and we'll say 'Yes, spend some more time on that.' They'll flesh it out and maybe even write it up."  Regarding the often famous voices who show up on the show, he said, "It's really about necessity. If we have the cast of Saved by the Bell [as a sketch], we want to try to get the cast of Saved by the Bell. If it's just a channel flip where someone's screaming, I'll probably do it. It really comes down to our budget. We can only afford to hire five actors per episode, so we have to spread them out in the best possible way ... We know a lot of people that are very good at this, and so we'll bring them in. Initially somebody probably gets brought in because we're gonna use them playing themselves or reprising a character they've made famous, and then we fill them out with other parts. When Hulk Hogan came on, we were doing a Hogan's Heroes parody, and it was with the stars of WWF. So one of his additional characters was Abe Lincoln. Each person who comes on usually plays three parts."

On his time constraints and working on other shows, he said, "Family Guy is a blast, but I'll usually do about an hour on that show once a month, and do pick-ups and different episodes and stuff. I'll record all my stuff separate from the rest of the cast so we'll do a surgical strike on just my dialogue."  Family Guy is going to broadcast a "Star Wars"-themed episode for the season premiere.  Was there any competition with FG creator Seth MacFarlane?  "We were both just so giddy about the fact that we get to make Star Wars. Although we called each other during the production, because we were writing them around the same time, just kind of conferring and making sure we weren't stepping on each others' joke toes."

On rumors that he left the Whedonverse over bad blood: "I did an episode of Angel and there was nothing but good will between me and the Buffy folks. There was a bunch of internet chatter around the time that the show was gonna wrap up, this whole thread that somebody brought to my attention about them calling me, them having written it, me saying I wanted too much money, there not being a schedule worked out. I winded up just calling Joss and being like 'Hey, I heard all this s**t going around. Is any of that happening?' He's like, 'No! None of that happened.' They were like 'We didn't write it!' ... I liked doing that show and I really enjoyed the people that I worked with. Me leaving the show or me not coming back to it had nothing to do with any sentiment or discord. It was just a matter of timing and the stories that they wanted to tell."
