The "Transformers" movie is coming back to the big screen, bigger than ever. SuperheroHype reports that Paramount is rereleasing the film on September 21 to IMAX. This wouldn't be noteworthy, but the release includes additional footage and bonus scenes. Think of it as the DVD come early on a much bigger screen.
(Here's hoping the Decepticons get more screen time. Hugo Weaving was wasted as Megatron.)
"Transformers" has grossed over $634 million worldwide, on a budget of just $150 million. A sequel is rumored (and almost certain) to be in the works. IMAX sales have been phenomenal this summer season, bolstering already-impressive ticket sales. With the bonus material being released to this format, the IMAX sales are probably going to see a nice surge of their own.
