At SDCC, Joel Silver had some great things to say about next year's "Speed Racer" flick.  Silver is producing the film under his Silver Pictures banner.  The famously camera-shy Andy and Larry Wachowski are writing and directing.

Silver said, "What they are doing on 'Speed Racer' is truly remarkable.  They have seen the movie in a way that only they can that you never picked up before.  They loved the original animated series."

He added, "We have a fantastic cast.  Emile Hirsch is Speed and Christina Ricci is Trixie. It's really a great group and a great story - very colorful, and the races are just unbelievable."
