Director Andy Fickman is returning us to "Witch Mountain" yet again. Not content with the flops of their other remade movies, Disney has tapped Fickman to update beloved 1975 fantasy classic "Escape to Witch Mountain." Matt Lopez wrote the script. Andrew Dunn is producing, with Ann Marie Sanderlin exec producing. Brigham Taylor and Casey Wolfe are covering Disney's interests.
The original film was based on a novel by Alexander Key. Tony and Tia Malone are orphans with extraordinary powers on the run from powerful men who intend to exploit them for nefarious purposes. The movie had good effects for the time period and made a generation of children grow up wishing they too were secretly aliens.
