With rumors rampant that a second 'X-Files' flick is moving forward, former star David Duchovny has said that lovely five-letter word that makes fans' hearts giddy: "script."
Reuters reports that series creator Chris Carter and writer Frank Spotnitz wrote the script and that Carter will direct. The film is looking at a summer 2008 release.
Duchovny said, "I'm actually supposed to see [the script] next week! Before I would just say that [there was a movie] because they told me, but now, after talking to Chris -- he's been giving me progress reports -- and he actually called yesterday, and said 'Next week, you should have something to read.'" Duchovny added that costar Gillian Anderson is indeed on-board with the project as well. Duchovny is currently busy promoting his new
series Californication, which will air on Showtime.
