Aside from the Movie That Shall Not Be Named, we've got news on some other projects on the horizon. First, Variety reports that Nayo Wallace has been cast in "Speed Racer" as Racer X's (Matthew Fox) girlfriend Minx. Wallace is a newcomer to genre media, but she has appeared in the Broadway adaptation of "The Lion King."

The Warners have also acquired the feature film rights to the "Septimus Heap" book series, about two babies switched at birth who have special destinies awaiting them.  The first three books in the planned seven book series have already been published.

Susan Katz, President and Publisher of HarperCollins Children's Books, said, "We are delighted that Warner Bros.
will be creating films from the Septimus Heap series," said . "We know that the producers share our belief that the world of Septimus Heap is quirky, humorous, and unlike anything else in children's fantasy."

Finally, over at Universal, Alex Proyas is set to direct (I kid you not) "Dracula Year One," whose plot can probably be gleaned from the title.  Proyas was attracted to the project because of the sympathetic portrayal of Old Fangy, who is considered a folk hero in Romania for fending off the Turks.  The film plays up the aspect of a man who "sells his soul to the Devil to save his kingdom and family."  Michael de Luca is producing a script by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless.
