To the surprise of no one, "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" netted a huge amount of money for Warner Brothers for its opening day. Just from the midnight showings, the film took in $12 million, and rounded out the day with a tidy $44.2 million. As records go, this is the best opening ever for a Wednesday, and the fifth-largest opening ever on any day, according to Variety.
It also represents the highest-ever opening for a Warner film.  The film managed to take in $1.9 million on IMAX screens alone, besting the $1.8 million of "Spider-Man 3."  The overseas take was $29.9 million.  What does this mean to fan-on-the-street?  We're going to get the last two movies, without any doubt.

So how are you spending the last week before the Deathly Hallows release?
