After years of wondering, we finally know where the Simpsons live (at least for the moment). Reuters reports that Springfield, Vermont beat out thirteen other towns of the same name to host the premiere of "The Simpsons Movie."  The online vote offered people a chance to sample several factors, including a video from the winning town that featured a Homer lookalike chasing an enormous pink doughnut through the streets.
The Vermont Springfield also boasts a nuclear power plant.  The winning town took over 15,000 votes in the competition, with Springfield, Illinois and Springfield, Oregon coming in second and third.

Senator Patric Leahy said, "After 18 years, it's good to finally welcome the Simpsons home. Vermonters love The Simpsons.  Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie will look great on that yellow carpet with the green mountains as a backdrop."

But the losing cities shouldn't feel too bad.  They get to host smaller premiere parties on July 26th.
