Bittorrent is changing the face of viewing, but the television broadcasters are still trying to keep up with demand. According to Variety, NBC's Bionic Woman has been picked up by Britain's ITV, to air this fall on ITV2. The network has also picked up the exclusive U.K. rights for the CW's Supernatural for an additional two seasons.
Meanwhile over in Germany, Heroes will premiere on RTL II this fall. This is great news for genre fans in those countries, at last those who don't do the double-click shuffle from the U.S. feeds. Illegal downloading is a factor in executive decisions anymore: pick up an international series too late and risk your target demo having already seen it. Of course, the reverse is also true. Wait a while, see what shows get the most buzz from the downloading fans, and let that drive purchases.
