David Eick, producer of SciFi's Battlestar Galactica, has been greenlit to produce a pilot based on the 1970's series The Bionic Woman, reports Variety. Laeta Kalogridis (The Dive) joins Eick writing and executive producing the new series. Eick previously produced Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and Cover Me: Based on the True Life of an FBI Family.

The original Bionic Woman series was a spin-off of The Six Million Dollar Man. The series starred Lindsay Wagner as Jaime Sommers, a tennis pro cum high school teacher who suffered a terrible sky-diving accident and was given bionic implants similar to those of her fiancé.
