The rumor going around the 'net tonight: CBS may bring Jericho back from the dead. E!Online and TV Guide are both buzzing with the word that CBS is pursuing an eight-episode deal to wrap up the series at midseason.  This may be due in part to the previously-announced support of the show among CBS higher-ups, but probably also has a lot to do with the large influx of nuts that have been sent to the CBS offices in support of the show.
Series regular Gerald McRaney will not be returning due to his own personal choice (aside from the obvious reasons).

Said his personal representative:  "Gerald is moving on. He's thrilled that HBO has submitted him for Emmy consideration for Deadwood, in which he appeared as publisher George Hearst. Although he enjoyed working with the people at Jericho, the Deadwood experience was one of the best of his entire professional career."

Keep those cards and letters (and nuts) coming.  There's still hope.
