David Greenwalt, co-creator and co-producer of Angel, is getting another chance at running the afterlife with Moonlight, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Greenwalt will serve as executive producer/showrunner for the new series, which is strongly reminiscnet of the old one.
A vampire detective, accompanied and harried by undead friends (including the lovely and bewitching vampire who sired him), makes his way in the human world and falls n love with a mortal. The Angel fans are sighing with annoyance; the Forever Knight fans are beating their heads into their keyboards. The Blood Ties fans are welcome to chime in any time. The pilot has been picked up for CBS's fal schedule, though it's going through some changes, including a recast of the leading lady.
Greenwalt has a good track record with genre shows. Besides Angel, he also worked on Buffy, Jake 2.0, and Eureka.
