For Those Who Don't Think Their World Is Enough Like a Video Game
Live-action SIMS? It sounds weird, but that's the word coming from 20th Century Fox.  Variety reports that Fox has bought the big-screen rights from Electronic Arts.  John David ("Eragon") is heading up the project, with Steve Asbell running the Fox side and SIMS Studio head Rod Humble looking over things from the Electronic Arts side.

Humble said, "'The SIMS has done an interactive version of an old story, which is what it's like to have infinite power and how do you deal with it.  Given that that's an old story, you can imagine how easily that would translate to traditional story telling."  (Some people can imagine it'd be told like "Bruce Almighty" or upcoming "Evan Almighty," for example.)

The script is coming from Brian Lynch, who wrote "Big Helium Dog" and (briefly) appeared in "Chasing Amy" and "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back."  (Possibly he can talk with buddy Kevin Smith to direct?)
