There's at least one Transformer model that's going to be very familiar to consumers, and director Michael Bay needs your help. MTV.com spoke with Josh Duhamel, who plays Captain Lennox in the film. Duhamel let slip a few tidbits about the fiml that we haven't seen in the trailers yet, including the form of a previously-unseen 'bot.
"The Transformer that will steal all the scenes I would say is this little iPod thing," Duhamel said. "It's pretty cool. ... It's like this crazy little 12-inch iPod that turns into this little killing machine." Fan rumors say it's probably Booster X10, a Deceptico who looks like an Apple iPod and likes to cause mischief by impersonating voices.
Director Michael Bay hasn't said who or what we'll see, though he has said: "[W]e have just teased you on this trailer. We have so many huge shots that will never be in our ads. I bet this will be one of the rare trailers that does not show you the true money shots of the movie."
He also importuned fans to help with a word-of-mouth campaign to get the movie to theatres sooner. "I would also like fans opinion on opening on July 3rd instead of the 4th," wrote Bay on his blog. "The studio kind of sort of is thinking about which might mean 'no'. If you spread the word on the Net - everywhere - they might listen. The 3rd everyone is off from work, I say 'what the f---' play the movie - 'give'em giant f---ing robots early'!!!"
