There's a rumor circulating tonight that David Boreanaz has auditioned for the role of Namor the Sub-Mariner. According to Superhero Hype, there's a third or fourth generation rumor about same, so take it with a grain of salt.  The film has been in development for a while, recently attached to Chris Columbus and now helmed (and written) by Jonathan Mostow, who also directed the third "Terminator" flick.

Namor is one of Marvel's oldest characters.  His story has been tweaked over time, but the basics are that he is the ruler of Atlantis and he's got a love/hate relationship with the surface world.  (Also?  Lots of fun UST with Sue Storm, so some fans were holding out hope for seeing on him one of the "Fantastic Four" films.)  Namor's a bad boy in a tiny bathing suit.  Question for the crowd: do you think Boreanaz can fill the role?
