Donald, Maria, Katherine and William have danced for nine weeks. Though they are in the home stretch the competition was at a fever pitch with each star dancing two routines in a desperate effort to please the judges and viewers enough to land a spot in The Finals.

Donald Driver: Pro Football Athlete
Peta Murgatroyd: Pro Partner

Waltz
It was a lovely and romantic dance. I think Donald was a bit off when he twirled with his arm up but other than that I loved his dance. He not only gave a strong effort on the physical feats but he also captured the mood of the piece. Donald continues to grow as a male dancer and Peta is clearly confident in his adept arms.

Samba
I felt that Donald lost a little bit of the fine control that he displayed in the Waltz but most of it was great. I loved that he was on his toes. No flatfootedness to complain about this time. He showed some fantastic hip action and hustle in his steps. It was a fine routine.

Judgment Call: Donald's Waltz got praise all around from the judges. Carrie Ann felt that Donald had a little misstep in his footwork but was impressed overall. Donald's Samba also captured the hearts of the judges and snatched a couple of “10s”, too.

Maria Menounos: TV Host
Derek Hough: Pro Partner

Argentine Tango
The tone was incredibly sultry. Maria wore a lovely pout and delivered some crisp footwork and legwork. Maria and Derek were completely linked in their dance and moved as a unit. Technically, Maria has been an ace but there are times when she doesn't appear to be emotionally vested into the dance. Her Argentine Tango was a powerful and passionate performance. No wavering this time.

Jive
That was quite an interesting Jive that seemed to have some touches of Lambada in there. It was a bold routine with Derek pushing the traditional boundaries of the Jive and Maria following along with him step by step. Again, Maria was poised, fluid and ravishing on the dancefloor.

Judgment Call: Maria's Argentine Tango had all three judges a twitter with glee. Even Len couldn't help but applaud Maria's Jive. Even though it was unorthodox it worked and it worked well.

William Levy: Actor / Model
Cheryl Burke: Pro Partner

Tango
William's Tango was good but as a Finals qualifier I thought it was bland.
It was just a straightforward performance with Cheryl putting in all of the flourishes while William just stayed stiff and rigid so that Cheryl could properly balance herself. Good but not outstanding.

Samba
The Latin dances seem to have been William's comfort zone and in contrast to his limited Tango moves his Samba rhythms were much more lively and varied in technique. He shook his butt, he performed some crisp footwork and looked at ease while leading Cheryl or dancing at her side. Even in the Semi-Finals William has a strange ability to look flat one minute and then captivating the next minute.

Judgment Call: The judges loved William's Tango though Carrie Ann was probably the most critical with Len adding a few notes and Bruno giving William a perfect “10” for his Tango. William's Samba made the judges laud even more praise on the studly gent.

Katherine Jenkins: Singer
Mark Ballas: Pro Partner

Quickstep
The routine was full of vigor and bounce. Katherine did a great job hopping, skipping, and foot flicking with Mark. There were a few minor errors in her footwork. So minor that it isn't even worth mentioning. Katherine gave a double dose of sustained energy and impressive technique.

Salsa
It was a great Salsa full of swiveling hips, beautiful footwork and loads of shimmies. The snake charmer motif was executed quite well with Katherine undulating her arms and hips to hold this viewer spellbound. Unfortunately, Katherine did have a gaffe at the very end that may have possibly injured Katherine's back but the dance was incredible overall.

Judgment Call: Katherine's Quickstep won all three judges over for the most part. Though Len pointed out some little errors he was still quite pleased with Katherine's progress in the competition. The awkward ending was taken under consideration but the judges applauded Katherine for continuing to dance well.

Note: As of the closing of the Semi-Finals episode there was still no word on Katherine Jenkins' injury. While I hope she can make it to The Finals I am much more concerned that she turns out to be okay and intact. 5/14/12

Updated Note: Katherine herself reported that she experienced a "reflectorial spasm in her lower back" during the final part of her Salsa. The good news is that there is no permanent damage to her back and hopefully she will be able to dance in the Finals if she is chosen. 5/15/12
