Summary: The Prince from the story never aged. The people from Kinkan Town did. Long after the happy ending, Mytho returns in despair.
Squeeing: This brings up a point I've entertained in passing, and handles it beautifully - the differences in a duck's lifespan, and Mytho's unaging appearence. The ending feels very cyclical, returning back to the beginning of the tale for the story to start again.
Excerpt: “The Prince is from a story, you know.” His hands fisted tightly in Fakir’s shirt. “Rue wasn’t actually in The Prince and the Raven. She came later, from Kinkan. Because the Prince is from the story, he never ages. But even though I made her my princess, it changed nothing.”
