Jason Rothenberg has been tapped to write a screenplay for a remake of the 1970's cult hit "Colossus: The Forbin Project" with Brian Grazer producing and Ron Howard potentially sitting in the director's chair. Variety reports that Rothenberg will take the original concept and run with it, possibly in a similar fashion to how Ron Moore and David Eick took the original concept of the 1970's Battlestar Galactica and springboarded off from there. Apparently, the new "Colossus" project will incorporate material from two later novels in the same series in order to expand the concept.
