View all articles by Garnet GreeneMy two favorite episodes of each cycle of ANTM are makeover week and go-see week. This year's girls seemed to be intellectual giants verses previous go-see adventurers. None of the girls got hopelessly lost, stopped to shop, attempted to cheat, or offended the native population. That, of course, means that go-sees were boring. Allison failed to impress the clients; she was nervous and clumsy. Several clients declared Fo too short. Celia got some favorable comments, but was also criticized for her age. Aminat was praised for her walk, but less so for her book. Teyona was the challenge winner as all the designers felt she had the whole package. Teyona won an outfit from each of the five designers. This was key for Teyona as she's been criticized for being less than fashionable at judging.
Theme of the Photo Shoot: The girls wore bikinis on the beach and were asked to interact with average humans. Nigel Barker was this week's photographer.
Allison: Allison really impressed Nigel by effortlessly striking poses and interacting with people on set.
Aminat: Aminat frustrated Nigel because despite having a sensational body, and flawless, glowing, burnt sienna skin, she never quite struck a pose that would show it off to full advantage. It didn't help this week that she looked incredibly sexy at judging in contrast to her photos. Her body is amazing. Tyra thinks it's as good as Naomi Campbell's.
Celia: Celia practiced before the shoot and when it wasn't what she was expecting she froze up and never found her groove. She's usually a good poser, but not this week.
Fo: Horrible and awkward, each pose seemed to be worse than the last and she ended up with a picture that made her look like she was 4'11".
Teyona: Slinky, sexy, fabulous. I'm pretty sure Tyra had many good photos to choose from.
Best Photo: Teyona
Worst Photo: Fo
Drama: None to speak of this week. Now that Sandra and Natalie have gone home, the only one left with an edge is Aminat, and she's doesn't have anyone to fight with.
Fo was eliminated this week and I was sorry to see her go, though I didn't disagree with the decision. I think Fo should pursue acting or hosting or something other than modeling. She is truly charming and I would love to see more of her in some capacity.
I think that Teyona is the girl to beat in the top four. She photographs well, and walks well. She also seems to a have a "Covergirl" personality; genuine, sweet, and modest. Allison may be able to challenge her with her unique look, however, she'll have to learn to walk, and she has very little time to do so. Aminat has never delivered good pictures and I expect, if she makes it to the top three, she will have trouble with the final close-up Covergirl beauty ad. If ANTM is true to form, next week should be some kind of commercial, partially or wholly in a Portuguese. In their previous commercial the girls all failed to impress the judges. Celia was the best of the worst in the previous commercial, and the poise that comes from her maturity, while helpful in spokesmodeling, seems to hurt her everywhere else. If Teyona can succeed in the next spokesmodel challenge I don't think anyone can beat her.
