Baccarin, Firefly's beautiful Companion, Inara, will play the leader of the alien Visitors, Anna, in the pilot remake of the show "V." The much-anticipated show also stars Scott Wolf, of Party of Five fame, who will play a journalist working with the Visitors.
The talented Baccarin has preciously appealed to SF fans of Stargate-SG1, where she played the evil Adria.
Torres, the warrior woman and first officer from Firefly, will star in "Washington Field," which revolves around an FBI squad made up of experts who travel the world responding to crises that concern U.S. national interests. Torres's character is a tactical pilot and rapid-deployment team coordinator.
Torres has credits in 24, Alias and Angel, in addition to SF entries Cleopatra 2525 and Hercules, the Legendary Journeys.
The charming Fillion, of Captain Tightpants fame, has the series Castle, which debuted this week to strong reviews. After his success in Desperate Housewives and the Internet sensation's Dr. Horrible's Sing-along Blog, he's now starring as a murder mystery writer who finds that someone is staging crimes from his novels. He can either drown in the therapy-bound chaos that is his personal life, or tangle with the sharp police detective Kate Beckett (Stana Katic) and work to solve the crimes. He picks the right one.
The question is, is this series the one that will make Fillion a hit? Some mysteries will just have to wait.
