As the holidays bring us a break in the new episodes of Seeker, the airwaves are heating up with news and reviews.

In an article discussing the overall health of the syndicated market, Broadcasting and cable.com report that Seeker “clocked a 2.4” market share with more than 3.6 million viewers its first month on air.

In the meantime, Advertising Age, which bills its review as a “Media review for media people,” panned Legend soundly, while making fun of the syndicated drama genre in general in its article: “Prophecies! Betrayals! Bodice-popping bosoms!”

In the article, the author points out a frequent complaint about Seeker.  That it strays significantly from the source material in an effort to be friendlier to the casual viewer.  However, it does point out the oft-cited strengths of seeker.  Namely the lovely New Zealand backdrop – showcased to its best advantage in high definition.

And an article by the Associated Press is making its rounds through media entertainment outlets (soon to be run in your local newspaper's arts and entertainment section).  In the article, the actors discuss the physical aspect of working on the show – including learning to ride horses and train with swords.

For fans who want to see the show online, there is now a second source to view it at.  In addition to i-Tunes, viewers may now watch the show legally via Hulu.com.

And in down-under news, Seeker co-star Jay Laga'aia will be singing in “Carols by Candlelight” on a local Australian station on December 24.  American fans who want to see that will probably have to hope for bootleg copies on YouTube.
