I am a 30-something professional writer, blogger and editor. Originally from Scotland and now living the ex-pat life in Würzburg, Germany. I have been writing for over 20 years and have worked for newspapers and appeared on BBC television and radio. Now internet is the new medium and I am still feeling my way around. Manic depressive obsessive tea drinker, obsessive internet surfer with Monty Python-type sense of humour. Best taken in small doses. Consult your pharmacist before visiting.

I thought "yeah! the old Jack is back!" (a good marketing tagline there don't you think?) What really attracted me to WAT in the first seasons was bullish Jack verbally abusing everyone, the team kicking down doors, sexy Samantha Spade kicking butt and shooting people. Those were the days my friends but unfortunately they seemed to have ended. I still live in hope that they will return. But recently, we seemed to have had Jack doing his best impersonation of Eeyore, Danny doing his best impersonation of a 1960's cop (with his retro suits), Martin with his uptight "just the facts Ma'am!" and Viv constantly looking as if someone has forced her to suck on a lemon. Samantha Spade still looks great though. Elena too - when I can understand what she is saying (someone give her subtitles please?)
And what is it with them flashing iPhone's everywhere? Does Apple sponsor the series?! "Have you seen this suspect? Oh and do you like my sleek new iPhone?"
Anyway, back to the episode. Will, the son of the secret service agent, has been punched on the nose outside his father's building and the man standing next to him runs away.
So who are the usual suspects? The parents for starters. The father with the aggression problem. The submissive mother. The female friend whose eyes are constantly darting about, the blonde dude who walks into the internet cafe and starts threatening Will (bad move there surfer dude), the bad guys that Secret Service dad has put away in prison, the bad guys that Secret Service dad is trying to put away, a scruffy guy on a motorbike that comes by and roughs him up....oh the list goes on and on.....Will is one very unpopular guy!
While all that's going on, Martin goes up to Medina (whose eyes light up so fast, I swear he's high on something) and formally refuses his job offer of being number 2, his Mini-Me). Medina doesn't like being turned down and starts making subtle references to Martin's career being damaged. I started to think the FBI is like the Mafia! ("you know what you're doing here turning me down?!")
Oh and Malone turns down the Wall Street security job offer to stay in the FBI. Now there's a surprise (NOT!). I'll make you a bet right now - by the end of this season, he'll be in a relationship with sexy Samantha, living with her and the father of her baby - just you watch. Those two are just itching for each other!
In the end, they find Will (dead or alive I won't say) and we get a really bad song to go along with it. Apparently it was sung by Rufus Wainwright. It sounded like someone stepped on the neighbourhood cat. Who chooses the songs to go on WAT? Whoever it is needs to be replaced! And I thought Enya was bad! Rufus is even worse!
