Looks like Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles) will be facing a new big bad during Supernatural's November sweeps. Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello let drop some Supernatural casting news. Mark Rolston (The X-Files, Angel, Alias, Reaper, among many others) will be playing a demon named Alastair. EW.com says the character's first air-date is November 13. (Note that the press release for the CW's November sweeps we linked to earlier gave no details for a Novemer 13th episode of Supernatural. According to epguides.com, the Nov. 13th episode is "Hell's Angels," the one listed for November 20th on the press release).

The character description for Alastair describes him as a "calm and composed demon with a placid smile that belies his simmering sadism and evil. He's one of the top demons in Hell. He's electrifyingly powerful.
" Ausiello says an inside source on the show revealed that Alastair has some sort of connection to Lilith, the demon who once held Dean's hell contract and is now trying to bring about the end of the world. "He knows Lilith from Hell, but it's unclear exactly which of them is the big Big Bad -- or if it's even one of them."

The Bros. Winchester already have a lot on their plate. A warrior angel, Castiel (Misha Collins) has stirred things up, revealing that he pulled Dean out of hell, and that Sam and Dean have to stop the apocalypse. There are family secrets and conflicts. Sam and Dean were recently faced with the spirits of some of the people they couldn't save, in addition to a variety of classic horror movie monsters, a flesh-eating creature called a rugaru, and thanks to time travel, their family's oldest and worst enemy, the Yellow-Eyed Demon.

And that was just within the first five episodes of the season.

Anyone else excited to see what happens next?
