In a move that is only shocking to people who haven't watched "The Dark Crystal" or Farscape (aka "Brian Henson Works Out His Childhood Issues With Amphibian Puppets"), the Henson Company has picked up "The Happytime Murders," which will involve blood, guts, death, and puppets.  Well, maybe just the last two.

"Murders" takes place in a world where humans and puppets co-exist, though the latter are treated as "second-class citizens.
When the puppet cast of an '80s children's TV show called "The Happytime Gang" begins to get murdered one by one, a disgraced LAPD detective-turned-private eye puppet -- with a drinking problem, no less -- takes on the case."  According to the Hollywood Reporter, the film will be a mix of "Pulp Fiction" and "Avenue Q."  Henson knows that fans want their puppets with nudity, swearing and porn while doing musical numbers.

The story is by Dee Austin Robinson and Todd Berger.  Berger wrote the screenplay.  Brian Henson, Lisa Henson and Jason Lust will be producing the flick. I can't wait.
