Kathy Baker has signed on to the cast of CBS' upcoming fantasy 'Babylon Fields,' according to Variety. She joins Amber Tamblyn (Joan of Arcadia) and Ray Stevenson (Rome) in the comedy-drama about the dead rising from their graves to resume their lives.
Purely speculating, Baker is likely to portray Tambyn's character's mother, who helps her daughter plot to kill her abusive husband.

Baker's best known roles to genre fans have been in "Edward Scissorhands" and Picket Fences, as well as her very first role in "The Right Stuff" as Sam Shepard's wife. More recently, she has appeared on Nip/Tuck, Gilmore Girls, and will appear in an upcoming episode of Law & Order: SVU.
