Tracy/Jessica plays with her newly found power, HRG is paired up with an unlikely partner, Claire plays truant from school with encouragement from her mother, Parkman discovers more about his African painter friend and Mrs Petrelli discovers that taming Sylar is going to take a lot more work than she thought ...

An episode that bordered slightly on the ridiculous ....
OK, what the hell just happened?

After a great opening two episodes, Heroes just descended into Alice In Wonderland ...

Mrs Petrelli, after doing her Darth Vader act -- "but I AM your mother" -- decides that Sylar is ready to become a good guy. She thinks that by putting on a suit and slicking back the hair, Sylar will suddenly develop morals and turn into Tommy Lee Jones in Men In Black. Only HRG sees through him and wants to kill him. But Petrelli makes it clear that Sylar is going out, with or without HRG's co-operation.

So we suddenly have this ridiculous situation where HRG and Sylar are working together! Only two episodes ago, Sylar was opening HRG's daughter's head up! Now HRG is sitting next to this guy as his partner! Are we supposed to believe that this is credible? That Sylar is now good and HRG is ready to forgive and forget?

They are now on their way to a bank where the escaped psychos with super-powers (one of whom has Peter trapped in his body) have it held up. We soon find out that they have no real interest in the money. Their real motive for holding up the bank is to draw the attention of the company and Petrelli / HRG. They want to draw HRG in so they can kill him. The "drawing him in" part works because soon HRG is on the scene, telling Sylar to stay in the car while he does his macho act and storms in.   Needless to say, you know what happens next -- HRG gets over-powered and Sylar comes to the rescue! Oh dear! I couldn't believe my eyes -- a cold blooded killer being nice?

But it's OK because suddenly he reverts back to form and starts to kill the psychos for their super-powers. It's so good to know that Sylar hasn't given up being bad. But before Sylar decides to revert back, Peter managed to get out of the psycho's body in time so all's well on that front.

Hiro and Ando are now in Berlin following Daphne the Speedster. They arrive at a movie theater where they meet none other than the Haitian who saps their powers. He is carrying a briefcase. They all follow him inside and they sit several rows back to see who he meets. He meets a woman and Hiro and Ando try to steal back the piece of paper by hitting the Haitian on the back of the head. But it doesn't work and the two plods are captured. Daphne the Speedster meanwhile has sped off with the Haitian's briefcase -- with the valuable piece of paper.

Parkman is walking through a valley and it is full of rocks covered in paintings. The paintings depict events in his life, past, present and future. But some of the future ones, he doesn't recognize. The African man says that isn't his future anymore and starts to paint over them. When he paints, he has cloudy eyes like Isaac from Season 1. When he's finished, he gets a new future where he's carrying someone.

Tracy meanwhile is freaked that everyone keeps calling her Niki and she wants to know why. So she heads to New Orleans where Niki lived to find answers. She ends up at a funeral home and finds a coffin -- with Niki in it. She bumps into Niki's son, Micah, who initially thinks that Tracy is his mother but then realises it isn't. This means that she is probably Jessica.

Claire wants to know how to fight those she perceives as her enemies so her mother offers to help her (her biological mother who can light cigarettes with her finger!). But all she does is shut Claire in a cargo hold and suffocate her and choke her and force her to admit why she really wants to fight. I didn't really understand the point of the suffocating and the choking to be honest! Tough love? But that's nothing compared to what Claire's adoptive mother does to the biological mother when she finds out that Claire didn't go to school that day! Round one, take your corners!

As the episode ends, we get a taste of test tube experiments as Tracy turns up at the door of a Doctor Zimmerman who says, "Know you?  I created you!" Hmmm!

Oh and Hiro and Ando are now sharing a cell next to Sylar! I'd like to see them get out of that one! I doubt the squeezy eye thing will work in there.

As I said, this episode descended into some pretty big holes at times, especially with Sylar. They should stop being ridiculous and get back on track with some credible storylines. Please, come on Heroes! Don't let me down already with episode 3! You've got to be kidding me!
