This week on Guiding Light, Rafe's fate is determined. In an effort to spare his mother Natalia more pain and money, Rafe decides to take a deal. Even though he was pressured by Buzz to do so, Rafe finally manned up, a tough way to grow up. The scenes were very realistic, and I could feel his pain and Natalia's. Frank and Mallet testified in Rafe's behalf, but the judge wasn't swayed and sentenced him to the whole plea deal of two years. The realistic approach is working for Guiding Light. I'm sure in real life Rafe wouldn't have gotten off with no jail time, with his having a juvenile record. This is a vast improvent over the time-traveling and clone stories of yore.

Speaking of which, there was still no Reva on the canvas this week, a welcome respit for the other actors on the show to shine.
Unfortunately, Guiding Light didn't use the time well for Mallet and Marina. I think their storyline is getting boring. I wish something would happen. I mean the hostage situation was good, but too shortlived. Bill and Lizzie's storyline is going the other way, dragged out too long. With Alan back to normal, that plotline should start moving along. I hope Vanessa and Billy move into the mansion. That would be really entertaining.

I don't like the Cassie and Cyrus pairing, but I guess I don't have to worry about that, what with Cassie's portrayer leaving the show soon. I wonder what will happen with R.J., her son. Is he leaving too? Too much young blood is leaving. I hope either Pelphrey or someone of his ilk is put on the show soon. Guiding Light has a lot of potential. Let's hope it's realized soon.
