I am a Stay-At-Home wife and mother who enjoys hunting bargains and making a dollar out of my own sense. I’m a trekkie, a makeup aficionado, a social critic, and a poet. Wow, I sound crazy. It’s hard to write a bio without coming across as self-absorbed, or is that just me?
View all articles by Jacqueline ThomasWell, The Office is back! and your favorite co-workers are slimming down for extra vacation days. Here's the top 5 highlights of this episode:
1) Pam is in New York
We learn in this episode that Pam is going to New York to study graphic design (I'm sorry, I thought all you needed was Google and DSL in order to study graphic design, but I digress). So, she's leaves Jim, and tries to make relationship work long-distance... of course we do find her giggling with a classmate, who happens to be a guy, so you know how this is going to turn out. Yeah, it's disappointing, but maybe the writers will surprise me.
2) Michael & Holly
Back at the Office, the weird HR lady (Holly) is still annoying me. She's supposedly perfect for Michael, but Michael really needs someone like Jan to keep him sympathetic. I just get weird vibes from Holly, and I don't like her... although I like Michael, and they are basically the same person, different gender. Michael is still involved with Jan, but you can tell he likes Holly.
3) Dwight & Angela
Ooh yeah, Dwight Shrute and Angela are still hot & heavy behind the scenes, although Angela's keeping it quiet from clueless Andy. She has a moment of remorse for cheating on Andy, but it definitely doesn't last.
4) Phyllis, Stanley, Kelly
Of course this trio would be the ones to take the weight loss over the top. Phyllis is kind of, ahem, big-boned. Dwight tricks her into getting stranded 5 miles from the Office, and Phyllis has to walk back. Stanley is, ahem, fat... but he's actually the biggest loser (from my calculations) of the group. Kelly takes things to the extreme and goes on the Beyonce' diet, and faints, gets hospitalized, eats a tape worm (or some type of unknown substance from Creed), and gets final revenge on Ryan. Speaking of which...
5) Ryan returns!
For all of you who were wondering, what is going to happen with Ryan-- well, he's back, and I just can't tell you how it happens, because it's so fun to see how he returns. But, let's just say, he's bringing smarmy back! A priceless moment is when you see Michael with a Ryan-copycat goatee. The Office wouldn't be the same without Ryan.
And it's not the same without Toby.
We also get a glimpse of Toby in some Costa Rican hospital, after a nasty accident. Hopefully, this means Toby will be reintergrated into the show. Bring Toby back!
