Top-rated show takes a bite out of House, too.

NCIS Season 6 premiere draws even more eyes that previous season opener

NCIS, now in its sixth season, won its time slot with its Season 6 premiere episode, "Last Man Standing" on Sept. 23. The episode drew an estimated 17.8 million viewers, more than its premiere episode in the previous season.

The show’s major competition, the House episode entitled "Not Cancer" drew fewer viewers than it had in previous seasons.

NCIS has been a consistent ratings leader and is one of the few prime time dramas that continues to gain viewership as it ages.

NCIS, now in its 6th season, airs on CBS on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET. The show follows a team of special agents for the Naval Criminal Investigative Service of the U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps. The highly rated show features Mark Harmon, David McCallum, Michael Weatherly, Cote De Pablo, Sean Murray, and Pauley Perrette.

The show airs on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on CBS TV. Classic episodes can be seen on ION TV network on Monday and Tuesday nights at 9 p.m. ET. Multiple episodes also air nightly on the USA Network.
