The hot rumour tonight: CW's 'Veronica Mars' has just been axed, according to E!Online. The series has been floundering in the ratings this season, alongside other survivors of the merger of UPN and the WB.
Earlier this year, the prducers announced that the last five episodes of the season would be stand-alone episodes rather than the show's usual story-arc-based plotlines, possibly in anticipation of an early close. The question remains whether they were prescient enough to wrap up the lingering character and relationship issues before the final curtain closes for Veronica and her friends.
