Family conflict was the theme of this week's episodes of Guiding Light. Dina's outraged when Grady injures Bill and helps him to the car. Reva's willing to risk her baby to look for Shayne in Afghanistan, against Jeffrey's better judgment. Lizzie stays by her granddad. Olivia and Jeffrey go to Chicago to talk Ava into coming home. Cyrus is arrested for helping Cassie with an annoying neighbor when he steals the neighbor's stereo equipment, and Grady scares off the only witness against his brother. Even with all the conflict, blood is the tie that binds, regardless of past sins.

The conflict between Jeffrey and Reva is real, just like you'd see anywhere. I didn't feel like I was watching a soap. I could have easily been watching anyone I know. Jeffrey grounds Reva, something she needs and something Josh never did for her.
He actually managed to talk her out of flying. A rarity for the headstrong leading lady. The emotions were raw, and not overly dramatic.

Grady finally looked more human, not just a monster. He expected nothing in return, not wanting Dina to tell his brother what he'd done. Grady was still violent in his approach, but that was good characterization by the writers.

I personally don't like the potential pairing of Cassie and Cyrus. Cassie just seems all over the place. She's mourning her daughter and it shows, but I feel it's now getting overplayed; the drama's getting forced. I'd rather the writers find someone else for Cyrus.

I'm hoping Frank finally dates Natalia. Her character is just a filler, it seems and so's that of Frank. I'd like to see these people get more airtime. Here's hoping for a good week.
