Karen L. Newman
Karen L. Newman has been a published writer since 2004 in the horror, science fiction and fantasy genres. Over two hundred and fifty of her short stories and poems have been published both online and in print. Her books include EEKU (Sam’s Dot, 2005) and ChemICKals (Naked Snake Press, 2007) and her work has been nominated for a Dwarf Star Award. She won the 2005 Mary Jane Barnes Award and two of her poems received honorable mention in The Year’s Best Fantasy and Horror. She edits the online magazine Afterburn SF, which publishes speculative short stories, and is the editor for the print poetry magazine Illumen. She also write reviews for Dark Discoveries. Her reviews have also been featured in Noneuclidean Cafe, The Dream People, Night to Dawn, and Gothic Review.

According to CBS Soaps in Depth, daytime talk-show host Montel Williams is back on Guiding Light to play Remy's father Clayton on September 18, 2008 and September 29, 2008. Robert Newman's return date has been announced as October 1, 2008. Won't Josh be in for a surprise? The representative from Galaxy, a company working with Lizzie and Bill, is being played by Tom Wiggin, who formerly played Sam Kershaw on the soap.
Guiding Light took several honors at the Golden Icon Awards. The show was awarded Best Soap and Best Writing Team. Nicole Forester (Cassie Winslow) won Best Actress.
Speaking of writing, CBS Soaps in Depth mentions Guiding Light's new writing team: Christopher Dunn, Lloyd "Lucky" Gold, co-head writer Jill Lorie Hurst, and co-head writer David Kriezman.
