Citizens of Springfield made life-altering decisions this week on Guiding Light.

some stay, some go
Citizens of Springfield made life-altering decisions this week on Guiding Light. Reva and Jeffery decided to keep the baby. I think this is great storytelling and I like the way the writers built up the suspense throughout the week. Interesting how Reva kept her child and Daisy aborted hers.

Speaking of Daisy, she finally got some sense and dumped Grady. She's never been one to make good decisions, but maybe she's finally growing up and turning things around. Kane showed some acting chops here, but it was still too copycat Jonathan for me.

Alan decided to have the brain surgery. Will he make it? According to the preview in CBS Soaps in Depth, Alan is to be back in charge. With Lizzie now in the family mansion, that will make it easier. Here, however, I thought his decision was too drawn out to be effective.

Speaking of Lizzie, she got the family house back along with forty-nine percent of the company. Bill decided to stay in the house, but to make things hard for Lizzie. I like these characters' chemistry. I think they're the next supercouple of the show. Reva and Jeffery are just too old for that now.

I didn't like Bill kicking Dina out. Talk about the adage of no good deed goes unpunished. I do like that the old Dina is coming back, with her decision to work with Grady. I felt her character had become boring, and a good waste of Gina's exceptional talent.

Guiding Light's plot is moving at a good clip, where you can't afford to miss a day's episode. This makes the show interesting, and hopefully good enough to stay on the air. I love this show and really want it to survive.

Until next week.
